About the Show

“God be praised, we have a quest!” Come see this hilarious, “lovingly ripped off” adaptation of Monty Python and the Holy Grail! This Tony Award-winning show delivers all the classic, quotable lines you know from the movies, but with a gutbustingly funny musical twist! Eric Idle’s hilarious dialogue and lyrics will leave you in stitches. But you’ll still be asking, was it an African or a European swallow?

Audition

Audition Information

Please read the audition form linked at the bottom of this page for full instructions.

No roles are pre-cast. TAP welcomes actors of all levels of experience; auditions can be competitive. We are seeking 20 performers with a mix of singing, acting, and dancing skills. Minorities are encouraged to audition. There are no roles for children in this production.

Please prepare roughly 32 bars of a song that best shows off your vocal range and character (musical theater repertoire preferred but not required, and please not from this show). Please have sheet music marked and ready for our pianist.

All who audition will learn a dance combination, so please come dressed to dance/move and wear dance or hard-soled shoes. Please also prepare a silly walk.

Walk-ups will be accepted as time allows. You are encouraged to sign up to reserve your preferred audition time.

There will be 8 performances over three weekends running April 18 to May 3. Curtains are 8:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 3:00pm on Sundays.

Character descriptions can be found below.

Audition Dates

Auditions for this show will be at the Arlington Mill Community Center, not at Theater on the Run. Saturday January 25th at 1pm (on the 4th floor). Tuesday, January 28 at 7:00pm (on the 5th floor).
Sign ups are requested for both days.

Callbacks will be held February 1 by invitation only. Not being called to participate in callbacks does not necessarily mean you are not being considered for the cast.

Sign up to reserve your audition time!

Note: All who auditioned will be notified as to whether they were cast or not.
