Voices of Hope: a digital cabaret
In November, 2020, TAP will present a virtual cabaret spreading a message of hope for these challenging times. Even though we can't come together in the theater, we can still come together as a community.
Watch the show on YouTube. (You will only see the video for viewing at the appointed showtimes.)
The War of the Worlds: a radio play
Keep Calm! The Martians are NOT coming... or are they?!
Perhaps the best known radio play of all time, "The War of the Worlds" chronicles the invasion of aliens from Mars. TAP is thrilled to announce we will be broadcasting The War of the Worlds, a 1938 radio drama written by Howard Koch.
The broadcast will air on WERA FM (96.7) at 6pm on October 31, 2020. Yes, that's the 82nd anniversary of the original, Halloween, panic-inducing broadcast. Listen live on the old-fashioned radio, or listen live online.
It's A Wonderful Life: a radio play adapted by Joe Landry
Frank Capra’s 1946 classic Christmas story about a man who is brought to the brink of despair only to be shown that his life of sacrifice and service is both important and full of joy. Joe Landry’s radio adaptation condenses the story while preserving the great dialogue and memorable scenes from the film.
This production will air on WERA, 96.7FM at 6pm on December 19th and December 25th. You can listen on the radio, or live online. There are no tickets required! But donations are always welcome.
Waiting for the Host
As the pandemic begins, everything closes down, people are searching for the new norm, a sense of closeness and...how to work technology.
The rector of a small church gathers a handful of parishioners via video conference to put on a Passion Play. Chaos ensues when the actors bicker and technology confuses, and this socially distant endeavor starts to fall a part. Yet being bitten by the “acting bug” and motivated to put on “updated” versions of medieval Biblical plays, the group comes together...with the help of an unexpected guest.
The Man That Corrupted Hadleyburg: a radio play
The Man Who Corrupted Hadleyburg adapts Mark Twain’s work for the radio, showing how one stranger can reveal the hypocrisy of supposedly honest individuals. This stranger, wronged by one individual in town, sets out to prove the fickle nature of the individuals within it by offering them a rich reward. Will the town prove their reputation for goodness to be true or will they fall victim to greed?
